BNP claims web site taken down in massive cyber attack.
The UK’s British National Party is claiming that it’s web sites have been taken down by an industrial strength ‘cyber’ or DDOS (Distributed denial of service attack) as explained by the illustration herein.
Below please find the text of the BNP mail out:
The main BNP website was offline for a short period due to an unprecedented Denial of Service Attack, the likes of which have only ever been seen before in 2001 when Microsoft’s website was brought down under similar circumstances.
The site was first attacked on Saturday night, at one point dealing with 28 million hits, but we managed to block out the traffic which was emanating from Eastern Europe and Russia.
The size of the renewed assault is unparalleled and there is no doubt that whoever has organised this has had to pay out a serious amount of money to the criminal underworld.
On Friday the servers of Clear Channel, part of a huge conglomerate that provides billboard advertising to the BNP, suffered a similar attack. Their IT professionals tracked the criminal activity back to a notorious “anti-fascist” organisation openly aligned to the Labour Party and supported by the Conservatives and the Liberal Democrats. This organisation was protesting at the decision by Clear Channel to allow the BNP to display advertising in support of our European Election Campaign.
As a consequence of the criminal actions against Clear Channel we understand that their legal team is currently in the process of issuing writs against the perpetrators which as well as civil actions will involve the possibility of potential criminal charges including racketeering.

The BNP statement is libellous. The anti-fascist organisation referred to, the identity of which is obvious to those involved in this area of activity, asked supporters to email protests to Clear Channel for letting billboard space to the racist BNP for its posters. Whether you agree with the action or not, that is a perfectly legitimate form of protest.
It was in no way an attack on Clear Channel’s website. Either the BNP does not know the difference between a DDOS and sending an email, or, more likely, the party is making deliberate insinuations.

Sonia, sending emails to clear channel is not going to bring about a Denial of Service.

IF IT IS LIBELLOUS ,SONIA ,WHY DON”T YOU SUE THEN?
By Sonia on May 26th, 2009 at 9:08 am
Ken, exactly the point I was making. The BNP seems to be trying to confuse the two. Anyway Clear Channel has not experienced a denial of service. Any suggestion it has is just a BNP lie.
Carl, suing the BNP is a waste of time and money. Mark Croucher, a freelance photographer, got a county court judgement against the BNP recently and the bailiffs tried to seize the BNP’s so-called “truth truck”, an advertising vehicle it raised money to buy last year and has since said it bought. Guess what. It is owned by a “third party” who has nothing to do with the BNP. Nick Griffin, the BNP leader, has also made sure he owns nothing that anyone could seize.

Hi Sonia, How’s dad? A little worried I would imagine.
Overstepped the mark this time Haven’t you.

Sonia,
The money that was collected for the Truth Truck was for the running and hire expences. I was totally aware of this when i made donations.
If the other parties and the media are not worried about the rise in the BNP, why wont they report on this story and why wont they disguss the policies instead of just smear campaigns.
Also Ken is right, email is nothing to do with DOS attacks.

i doubt very much in Eastern EU for sure there was 28 million people emailing to complain, but everybody knows this was not the case, just another cheap shot by the far left.
